Much to no one’s surprise, the United States Women’s Soccer Team is headed to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo following a 4-0 win in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament semi-finals on Friday night. The Americans got two goals from Sam Mewis, including one from a free kick, and one apiece from both Rose Lavelle and Christen Press.
The defending World Cup winners have now gone 27 games without a defeat, and they will look to make it 28 in the title game on Sunday against Canada. Canada, by the way, also qualified thanks to a 1-0 win over Costa Rica. They will look to avoid being runner-up to the US for a fourth straight time when they clash on Sunday.
