Deshaun Watson is not happy in Houston, and it’s now, apparently, been confirmed that he has officially asked the Texans to trade him elsewhere. The quarterback has been unhappy with management for a while now. This past summer, former head coach Bill O’Brien made a series of disastrous moves to deplete their roster of star talent around him. The team then brought in a new GM and fired O’Brien, who had been acting in both roles, and they did not consult Watson, further angering him.

Now, they have a new coach, which isn’t said to be changing the QB’s mind at all. The problem is that his deal has four more years on it and also has not trade clause in it. In theory, they could force him to wait until 2028 to leave, but we all know that’s not likely to happen given the power players have in modern sports. Some have reported that he might sit out until they acquiesce, so we’ll just have to wait and see if that comes to fruition or not.
