The Detroit Lions have been the butt of plenty of jokes over the last couple of decades. Unfortunately for them, those jokes don’t seem like they will be ending too soon following yet another defeat on Thanksgiving. This time it was at the hands of the seemingly rejuvenated Houston Texans.
The Texans improved to 4-7 with their third win in the last four thanks to fine play from both DeShaun Watson and JJ Watt. Watson threw for over 300 yards and had four touchdown tosses while Watt had a pick-six that helped them rack up the points in a 41-25 win. Adrian Peterson scored two rushing touchdowns for the beleaguered Lions, but it was far from enough as they remained in the basement of the NFC North. Houston, meanwhile, still has work to do, but they are now third in the AFC South and can still pull out a miracle if they can find a way to win out from here.
