We’re only two games into the MAC football season, but two teams remained unbeaten on Wednesday night in the conference as they each try to jockey for position to make an unlikely College Football Playoff run. We’ll start with Western Michigan, who had the tougher of the tasks on the evening. They took on Toledo, and they only narrowly escaped with a victory, winning 41-38 at the final whistle. It was a remarkable win for a couple of reasons.

First, they recovered an onside kick with 45 seconds to go when they were trailing by four. They then proceeded to drive down the field and scored a touchdown after they faked a spike and then spotted a receiver for an easy six. They are now 2-0, just like their fellow Michigan dwellers, Central Michigan. They crushed Northern Illinois 40-10. Buffalo and Kent State are also thus far, with both of their wins this week coming on Tuesday night.
