It’s hard to not talk about the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite the fact that the Washington Wizards won their fifth straight game on Monday night over them, in a 127-124 overtime result, it’s still the fact that the defending champs just lost a third in a row that is taking up the headlines. Anthony Davis, of course, is still sidelined for the purple and gold, while many a fan and journalist are making claims that LeBron James needs a rest. Obviously, that’s infuriated ‘the King,’ but maybe there is something to it.

He did score 31 points while dishing out 13 assists in the loss, but he went to the foul line just three times and made under 50% of his shots from the field. Bradley Beal, on the other hand, was in fine form for the Wizards, especially when it mattered most down the stretch. He had 33 points in total, with six of those coming in the extra period on three consecutive possessions. Those buckets helped give his team the lead and ultimately allowed them to win the game, improving to 11-17. Though they are still some way from the playoffs and a .500 record, it sure beats where they were when this run began.
