There were just two games held on Thursday, the night before All-Star festivities kick off, and that second game took place in New Orleans with the Pelicans playing host to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Zion Williamson kept up his torrential pace, he had scored a career-high 31 last time out, by scoring 32 to break his own record this time around.
However, it was still not enough to win, as OKC held them off to do so by a score of 123-118. It came courtesy of some excellent guard play. Danilo Gallinari scored 29 for OKC, while Chris Paul had 14 points to go along with 12 assists. Stephen Adams even contributed with his first ever three-pointer, nailing a ‘baseball’ toss from behind half court to end the first half. The loss puts the Pelicans nine under .500 at 23-32, while the Thunder’s win takes them up to 33-22 thus far.
